Michael A. Powell

A candidate for Chapter President, Michael A. Powell is a senior executive and managing partner at Daqscribe, Inc. 

Also a United States Navy veteran and a University of Maryland alumnus, Michael’s industry experience in the electronic defense and intelligence technology space began in 2005 at the Leonardo DRS “Signal Solutions” group, formerly recognized as the Watkins-Johnson Company. He’s held many customer and market-facing positions, from Field Applications Engineer to several executive-level sales and marketing roles.

Michael is the Chapter Vice-Chair of the Denver IEEE Aerospace and Electronics Society (AESS) and IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS). He’s also an eighteen-year member of the Association of Old Crows, of which he is a Mile High Country Crows Board of Directors member, appointed to a position with a mission to create chapter value and accelerate growth in AOC membership since the year 2022.

Jason Fritz, Ph.D.

A candidate for membership to the Chapter’s Board of Directors and to be appointed Chapter Vice President, Dr. Jason Fritz has worked in the Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) field for over 20 years in varying capacities, most recently as an Associate at Zeta Associates Inc. (“Zeta”) for his Signals Intelligence subject matter expertise. 

Jason has worked in many RF signal processing design and engineering positions at companies that produce advanced RADAR capabilities for national defense and intelligence operations. He earned a BSEE at the University of Dayton in 1994 and an MSEE at the University of Delaware in 1996. After working his first eight years in the industry, Jason enrolled at Colorado State University and received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2010. 

Dr. Fritz is currently a senior member of the IEEE and once held Chapter Chair positions at the Denver IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) and the IEEE Aerospace and Electronics Systems Society (AESS). He has been the incumbent president of the Association of Old Crows, Mile High Country Crows chapter since 2017, and he pledges to continue contributing to and ensuring the organization’s success.

Matthew Pierce

A candidate for membership to the Chapter’s Board of Directors and to be appointed Chapter Secretary, Matthew Pierce is an RF Electronics Design Engineer working on phased array technologies for radar and electronic warfare systems for Ball Aerospace (“Ball”). 

Matthew earned a BSEE from the University of Washington and an MSEE from the University of North Dakota. He began his practical career at Hewlett-Packard in the late 1990s and has worked for Ball since 2009, starting with commercial phased array designs for RFID and communications projects. Matt has been placed in technical leadership roles at the company to produce solutions for critical national defense programs, ranging from ESM functions to EA arrays to the recent development of an airborne, phased array weather radar system. 

Matthew is a sustaining Association of Old Crows member. And when Matthew is not working on digital beamforming concepts, you can find him exploring the mountains of Colorado with his wife, Lisa.

A candidate for membership to the Chapter’s Board of Directors and to be appointed Chapter Treasurer. Youngsoo Kim is the President and CTO of Daqscribe, Inc.

Youngsoo has career roots at the Agency for Defense Development (ADD) in South Korea and then amassed years of technology, engineering, and business management experience at the GE Fanuc Automation Corporation. 

He is a sustaining AOC member through Daqscribe’s corporate pledge to the Association of Old Crows.
